I'm sure at times we have all had the one curtain that is too long and therefore falling apart. That is what happened to the curtain on my back door. It is the most used door and the one that the dogs attack any time they hear someone coming in the driveway. This is how easy it was to repair and shorten it.
This is the destroyed curtain in question, too long and the seam was ripped out of it by doggy claws.
I took it down and measured the length of the window.
Add a few inches past the bottom of the window so it hangs nicely and a little more for the hem.
45" from the top of the window to where I want the curtain to hang.
Add an extra 3" to cover the double hem.
Mark with tailor's chalk and cut along the line.
Fold the rough edge up once.
Fold up again and iron flat.
Sew.
This is what the finished project looks like.
